You will support the effective identification, analysis, and provision of critical data to key decision-makers in order to drive incremental value for the organisation. You must have a relevant Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years’ experience in a similar role & strong Power BI (cloud, server, and embedded), Tableau, SQL Server Management Studio, Excel, Report Building, Programming, and/or Quantitative Analysis skills. Any Graphic Design experience & expertise in visualization with a portfolio of work will prove highly beneficial. Please note this is an Employment Equity position.
Develop engaging and actionable dashboards and reports, starting with the conceptual phase, up to the implementation with close coordination with line of business.
Work in conjunction with the analytics team to create reports, and dashboards to support the actuarial reporting function.
Maintain and enhance existing BI dashboards.
Identify, report, and participate in data issue validation and resolution.
Analyse and research business problems and effective solutions (i.e. support the creation of models, leveraging of untapped data sources and automation of data delivery).
Develop working relationships with business partners and functional support groups (Actuarial, Data Analytics, Business Development, etc.) in order to clearly identify the business-based need and value proposition.
Develop and effectively document business requirements used for the design and development and automation of targeted solutions.
Work constructively with key business partners in order to provide input into the identification and development of quality metrics and the ability to efficiently access supporting data elements (data drill-down capabilities).
Effectively leverage and work with technology-based tools that enable data analytics and data management.
Communicate the development of collaborative partnerships and the translation of data-centric issues and solutions in an understandable manner to business partners.
Train users in the use of Business Intelligence& Analytics tools (MI reports, self-service applications, dashboards, etc.) to ensure effective adoption and utilisation.
Provide support of analytic processes systems to the business that can be used.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelors’ Degree in a Quantitative, Computer Sciences or Engineering field.
3 Years of related experience or equivalent.
In-depth knowledge of Power BI (cloud, server, and embedded), Tableau, SQL Server Management Studio, Excel, Report Building, Programming, and/or Quantitative Analysis is preferred.
Expertise in visualization with a portfolio of work is a big plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at a senior level.
Ability to innovatively solve complex business information needs through the application of current business intelligence tools and technology.
