ENVIRONMENT:
One of South Africa’s top industrial IoT firms, specializing in AI-enhanced solutions for digital productivity, workplace safety, and employee healthcare, is seeking a motivated and experienced Technical Sales Representative to join their team at the Head Office in Somerset West. The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for driving sales and fostering strong client relationships within the global mining industry. This role involves developing and executing strategies to identify potential customers and generate interest in their offerings through the use of advanced technology. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in the mining or technology sector, is required.
 
DUTIES:
Sales and Business Development:
  • Identify, research and target potential clients.
  • Develop and execute effective sales strategies to achieve targets and expand the customer base.
  • Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and stay updated on industry trends.
  • Create appropriate content that educates and brings an awareness of their offerings across multi-forums.
  • Develop and execute lead generation campaigns by utilising multiple channels to perform lead generation activities.
Technical Expertise:
  • Understand and communicate the technical aspects and benefits of company products/services to clients.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients, addressing their specific needs and requirements.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to showcase solutions based on customer needs.
Client Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients.
  • Understand clients’ business needs and propose tailored solutions to meet their objectives.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
Sales Process Management:
  • Core focus on targeted lead generation to open top of funnel pipeline.
  • Manage t Prepare and present sales proposals, contracts and quotations.
Collaboration and Reporting:
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to build programs that support sales enablement.
  • Provide regular sales, forecasts and updates to the sales manager.
 
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or a related field.
 
Desired Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in the mining or technology industry.
  • Tech savvy- can talk the language of technology with ease.
  • Knowledge and preferably experience in the field of account based marketing.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to understand complex technical concepts.
