ENVIRONMENT:
OVERSEE the management of multiple student accommodation buildings, ensuring they are well maintained and meet safety and regulatory standards as the next Portfolio Manager sought by a dynamic Property Management & Development Specialist in Joburg. You will also be expected to develop and implement strategies to maximize occupancy rates including leasing initiatives, prepare and manage budgets while ensuring all properties comply with local laws and regulations, including Health and Safety standards.
 
DUTIES:
Property Management –
  • Oversee the management of multiple student accommodation buildings, ensuring they are well maintained and meet safety and regulatory standards.
 
Occupancy Management –
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize occupancy rates including leasing initiatives.
 
Financial Management –
  • Prepare and manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure profitability of the portfolio.
 
Customer Service –
  • Provide excellent customer service to student residents, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and effectively.  
 
Team Leadership –
  • Lead and manage a team of Property Administrators and support staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance.  
 
Compliance –
  • Ensure all properties comply with local laws and regulations, including Health and Safety standards.  
 
Reporting –
  • Prepare regular reports on property performance, occupancy rates, and financial metrics for EXCO.
 
Universities –
  • Liaise with universities and different Funding schemes regarding payments and placements of students in the different buildings across the portfolio.
 
RoMi –
  • Attend to red robots and RoMi, responding to student queries and concerns, managing the performance and productivity of the team on RoMi.
 
HR: Working in conjunction with the HR Manager to ensure:
  • Leave is captured and communicated accordingly,  
  • Address and raise disciplinary- and performance-related issues and concerns.  
  • Setup and attend interviews with potential candidates.
