ENVIRONMENT:
A highly experienced & forward-thinking Marketing Specialist is sought by a leading School Supplies Provider who will play a critical role executing marketing campaigns, sales promotions, and brand positioning in collaboration with internal teams and external agencies. The ideal candidate will have strong Project Management, excellent communication skills, with a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work cross-functionally to drive brand engagement and commercial success. You must preferably possess a tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, or a related field and any Marketing Certifications (Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce, CIM) or familiarity with eCommerce platforms /Adobe Suite will prove beneficial. You must have 5+ years’ experience in a Marketing role, preferably in an omnichannel environment with the proven ability to execute marketing campaigns across multiple channels (Digital, Retail, eCommerce, B2B).
DUTIES:
Strategic Planning & Execution –
- Work closely with key stakeholders to define brand and category positioning.
- Execute multi-channel marketing campaigns across digital, eCommerce, Retail, and Commercial channels.
- Develop and implement structured branding and marketing processes.
- Create and manage templates, workflows, and planning documents to ensure clear communication and campaign execution.
Campaign & Promotion Management –
- Act as a brand custodian, ensuring all marketing activities align with corporate identity.
- Collaborate with Category Managers, Procurement, and Sales teams to develop and execute targeted promotions.
- Work with marketing agencies to ensure campaigns meet KPIs, performance metrics, and ROI targets.
- Oversee the briefing process for creative development, including reviewing promotional artwork for accuracy.
- Work closely with retail teams to develop and execute marketing campaigns that drive foot traffic and sales in-store, aligning with brand positioning.
- Collaborate with Retail teams and suppliers to design effective in-store promotional strategies and merchandising that enhance product visibility and boost sales.
- Ensure that marketing strategies are effectively integrated across retail, eCommerce, and digital platforms for consistent messaging and maximised commercial success.
- Monitor the performance of in-store marketing campaigns, measure customer engagement, and adjust strategies based on sales data and customer feedback.
- Ensure that all marketing materials, in-store displays, and brand communication align with the company’s corporate identity and retail standards.
- Liaise with suppliers for co-branded and supplier-driven promotions.
Marketing Administration & Reporting –
- Obtain quotes from service providers for printed materials, ensuring alignment with procurement policies.
- Manage voucher processes for general promotions and Back to School campaigns.
- Work with suppliers to source high-quality product images for marketing collateral within a Product Information Management (PIM) environment.
- Track, report, and optimise campaign performance.
Budget & Financial Management –
- Manage budget allocations for marketing initiatives, ensuring cost efficiency and financial alignment.
- Track supplier funding for marketing initiatives and secure additional funding where possible.
Communication & Collaboration –
- Maintain strong communication with internal teams, agencies, and external stakeholders.
- Work across Sales, Retail, Procurement, and eCommerce teams to align marketing efforts with business goals.
- Represent the business professionally in all market-facing interactions.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Execution of the marketing calendar with minimal delays.
- Securing supplier funding for marketing initiatives.
- Growth in lead quality and sales for promoted products.
- Brand consistency across Commercial, eCommerce, and Retail channels.
- Measurable increases in brand awareness and campaign performance.
REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred to haves –
- Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Marketing Certifications (Google Analytics, HubSpot, Salesforce, CIM) or familiarity with eCommerce platforms /Adobe suite are advantageous.
- Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Dynamics CRM or other marketing automation tools.
- Familiarity with budget management and supplier marketing funding processes.
Essential –
- 5+ Years’ experience in a Marketing role, preferably in an omnichannel environment.
- Proven ability to execute marketing campaigns across multiple channels (Digital, Retail, eCommerce, B2B).
- Experience working with agencies and internal teams to drive brand execution.
- Excellent Project Management and organisational skills.
